We're all gods
Think about this way:
In the past, the ancients prayed to god for rain, for a bountiful harvest, etc.
If they were to look at us today, witness our ability to seed clouds and create rain, to create GM seeds so resistant, they would think us as gods.
So, who's to say we aren't gods?
Such is the power of humans, our ability to adapt and progress. The exponential growth of science.
All we need is faith and belief. Not in god, but it ourselves.
I guess that's the coolest take home message from Lost Symbol.
"The only difference between you and God is that you have forgotten you are divine."
