today's the day i mark my 1 year in SAF.. decided it was worthy to do a recap.. =) today onwards, its <1 year to ord.. *grins..

can still rmb going to CMPB to do the checkup.. saw the nsfs there so slack.. medics.. how i wished i could become one too.. *and i did*.. though a little more workload, nonetheless glad.. compared to my counterparts who're going duty eod (every other day), getting mandatory suntanning, wearing green, smelling gunpowder, folding smart 4s.. anyway u get the drift..

when i received my letter, i still could rmb i was mugging for A's.. very sian diao that every day.. it meant that after A's, i only had 20 days b4 enlisting...

which i of course capitalised upon and went to beijing..

BMT - Pulau Tekong (081205 - 070306)
the field camp, sit test, 24km route marches, soc, ippt training.. all the sufferings.. from boys to dogs/slaves.. there were moments of fun though.. nice bunk mates and i can still remember a very successful recruits' evening.. horrible suffering in tekong, the stinky smelling PENGUIN ferry, the marches to-and-fro, the parade rehearsals under the hot hot sun but i guess it was all worth it.. POP.. graced by the PM.. whahaha.. kinda cool to say the PM came to watch me POP.. :P and not to forget the CEO of temasek holdings.. lalala~

Combat Medic Course - School of Military Medicine/ SAF Medical Training Institute (210306- 250506)
the most vivid memory; the 1st I/V.. though the needle was small(comparatively), it was still a very traumatising experience.. I/V was on the 1st friday, right b4 book out.. there was the pressure to faster get it over with to book out, yet we were all so apprehensive..

fantastic bunk mates.. constantly suaning each other.. esp zhu chenchao.. haha.. we've been saying meet up meet up but it seems like never.. haha.. only met him once after the course..

anw the daily canteen breaks (sometimes 2 a day), the naps in lectures, almost daily practical lessons in the training sheds and those horrible medic obstacle course.. i'll remember them.. and also the skill of I/V, cuz during reservist will still have to.. zzz...

Underwater Medic Course - Sembawang Camp (260506 - 160606)
due to the inability of the organisers to get bunks, we were allowed to stay out.. bad thing was had to reach sembawang everyday at 750am.. zzz.. i was never late though (likes puntuality :P), but i didnt enjoy having to wake up at 5 plus every morning..

learned new stuff that would prepare us for being a medic in the navy.. decompression illness, CAGE, etc etc etc.. using the hpyerbaric chamber, transporting casulty in ships.. short but tough course..

posted to changi after the course.. which of course was the best option since i live at where i live.. haha.. yep.. life has been ok thus far i guess..


MSTD - Surabaya, Indian Ocean, Perth, South China Sea, Kuching (290706 - 080906)

my 42 days away from home.. glad that i went for the trip.. though i felt it sucked initially because i had to postponed my TP.. yea made me have to get my licence on 19th instead of 18th.. and i probably went for a lesson extra then if i had not postponed.. oh well..

had lots of fun on the trip.. so relaxed.. ahhh.. taiwan next year? low chances.. =(

i have 26 days of leave to clear till i ord.. and 1 day off.. so technically speaking, its like 10++ months more only.. haha.. optimistic.. yep..


i'm happy 1 year has ended.. 1 more year to ord, 3 more sems to matriculate.. i hope time flies..
