Just some statistics for YEAR 2006..

NUS got 31,500 applicants this year(up from 25,500 last year) for its 6,350 places, Oversubscribed by 5 times (13500 A-level applicants, 7000 poly applicants, and more than 10,000 foreigners)

NTU got 32,000 applicants this year(up from 29,000 last year) for its 5,300 places, Oversubscribed by 6 times (11600 A-level applicants, 10700 poly applicants, and over 9500 foreigners)

SMU got 10,600 applicants this year(up from 9,400 last year) for its 1,250 places, Oversubscribed by 8 times (more than 50% of them are A-level grads the rest, 3,473 are from poly(33%) and foreigners, its business school receive 5,000 over applicants).


The applications included a total 32,000 from A-level holders and around 21,000 from polytechnic graduates. (Many of us applied to 3 universities, and this is included in the total applications numbers for A-level holders and poly grads)
12,900 applicants can get in uni, the rest of the 40,100 cannot get into uni.
And of course, I forget to include, they capped foreign intakes at 20%


know what that means?? means that NUS earned $315000, NTU- $320000, and SMU $159000 just from application fees... crap..!! not sure if its accurate.. saw it online... but kinda hard to believe ntu more pple apply than nus.. hmmm...



interestingly some pple got chem engine interview @ nus.. hmmm...

anw for those who haven get letter yet, dun despair...
after june 7th those people holding 2/3 places will take one and release the other places.. so june will still have pple getting accepted.. and for those who wanna appeal, u have to accept an offer 1st den appeal..

if you can convince the admission dept to give you at least an interview with the admission panel from the various faculty, then i think you may stand a slight chance
