OMG wat the hell..
deja vu..
Exactly same grades as sem 2.. and i mean EXACTLY grade for grade... sigh... cap drop yet again.. yet again B+ for chem mod.. dumb shit.
Day 1 in Tokyo!
ok damn hero decided not to wear thermal.. so far, so good.. lol.. only long sleeve shirt and a coat + pants..
Roller coaster!! freaking fun~~~~~ high!!! godiva hot choc in the cold, akin to receiving charcoal during a snowstorm.. lol.. and ice cream in the cold, xue shang jia shuang!! HAHAHA..
Japan isnt as expensive as made out to be.. though the selection for shopping sucks, food wise, price is average-y i guess.. as long as you resist the temptation to purchase every single item being sold..
trust me, they have A LOT! all the nonsene no one can possibly think off..

Merry X'mas'09 & Happy New Year'10
Unfortunately I wouldn't be around to be celebrate it in Singapore with friends. I know right? boohoohoo ='(
Having to actually do it in a foreign land, on snow capped mountains while skiing (X'mas) and with strangers in cosmopolitan Tokyo & Osaka (New Year), the feeling is just sooo different.
No worries, you guys have fun in Singapore. :P :P
Alright.. nuff with the sarcasm.. haha.. not like i actually celebrate xmas n new yr normally anyway..
Now on the topic of New Year's Resolution!! Notice the singularity. Thus only one. I just want 2010 to be more happening than 2009! (though it appears to be improbable, I'd still try.)
2009 has been a year to remember. The riches, the experiences and the fun! Well apart from the horrible incident when I fractured my leg, so I used clutches for the very first time. That I'd rather forget.
On a kinda inappropriate note, in 2009, I managed my first A+ for CN mod. HoHoHo. Merry Christmas.
December 25th, 1642. Julian calendar. Sir Issac Newton is born. Jesus, however, was actually born in the summer. His birthday was moved to coincide with the traditional pagan holiday that celebrates the winter solstice with lit fires and slaughtered guts

Dr. Sheldon Cooper once said..
When you understand the laws of physics, Penny, anything is possible.
I find it, appropriate.
Went to ECP to learn how to blade earlier, and I succeeded! (low CG, frictions, potential & kinetic energy, stability etc.. haha) While still a noob, at least I managed! Reminds me of the time in JC when I learnt to cycle in a day!
This holidays continues to be really productive for me!

Not sure what title this post deserves, so it'll remain title-less.
Right now I'm really determined to learn 2 languages. Cantonese and French. Have always been fascinated with canto, maybe because of tvb exposure, there's this cool-feel associated with the language. Its very different from chinese.
The same with french.. Whenever I hear spoken french, there's this coolness-aura. Maybe that's what draws me so dearly to them.
I think a reasonable test of the grasp of the language is the ability to order food. Ok maybe its just me, I like eating =x I hope the next time I'm in france/hk/KL, I'd be able to do so.
At the moment I'm watching 富贵门. Despite having access to the mandarin version, I'm actually watching the canto one, and reading chinese subtitles along the way. I know, its 不可思议 (off hand I cant find a suitable english word and this describes aptly). The downside? Well, I gotta keep staring at the screen as opposed to if I were watching the mandarin version. Nevermind that.
富贵门 just triggers so much stuff. How inspiring.

of the lure of free food...
~a wise man once said that there's only a fine line dividing being really resourceful and cheapskate.. i totally agree.. how can anyone disagree with himself?~ [idea stolen from BBT]
Singaporeans say free is good. I say free food is even better!!
just returned from world aids day event @ supperclub.. the tickets were good... (in case u're wondering, it means they were free.. wols.)...
didnt eat anything till 6 plus today.. but no, not because i expected free food.. hunger just wasnt present..
after entering, veered left and into a room, apparently drawn by the lure of free food from the opposite side of the door, albeit without visual confirmation.. nevermind that there were 2 security staff there who asked to see our collar pins and before letting us enter..
and so we ate.. nevermind again that i had just gobbled down $2 worth of jollibean.. (damn! if only i had verified the availability of free food in advance)..
and then i saw jack and rai in the room.. speaking to a few people with crew passes.. "omg i think we're in the wrong room"... LOL... because i could hear the emcee's voice echoing from the main area..
"don't panic!" .. grab more food before exiting unabashedly, just in case free food was only for the privileged few.. hahaha..
alright.. that was the only fun i enjoyed.. i wouldnt really call the event a success.. i mean, at least last year at love amp-ed there was stefanie sun.. this year i didnt even stay till the end.. and, totally forgot to even bring a camera..
***i see how horribly damning this post could have on my reputation.. yes free is good but i'm not THAT crazy about free food alright.. its merely an attempt at a self-depreciating joke/post***

Semester 3
As the sem concludes, I think back and realise (no actually I've known this all along) that the past few months have just been fantastic, almost like I've been in a really long long dream. *but I know I'm not because the pinch hurt*
No doubt 6 mods was torturous, considering 5 were core, but here I'm not really referring to the academic things that have occured. Nevertheless, I would think I will have fare reasonably alright this time again.
The first half of the sem was primarily the obsession with winning F1 tickets. This went unbelievably well. Trading was brisk over the recess week and I no doubt made a tidy sum. This would eventually come in handy. In fact success got into my head so overwhelmingly that I actually decided to attend all 3 days, not to mention the autograph session. I really wanted to just soak in the atmosphere. Well time will tell if my results would suffer as a consequence, but I'd still be pleased even if it were the case.
I've always wanted a UK exchange. Right from the beginning. And now I have it. It aint gonna come cheap, but here's where the profit I made earlier in the year will come in handy. I don't want dad and mum to be burdened by my own desire for a great time. If its going to be 20k, then so be it. I'm capable enough to spare them that. Of course, if I were to that 4k euro award, it'd be so great!
Went to accumulate brochures earlier from science co-op. Now I already have a rough plan for the traveling. 1 month of Europe after the sem, and 3 weeks of UK during Easter holidays. I wish next sem was the 6th one. How i wish...
But first things first. Next sem I'll get a taste of hall life. To be truthful, contrary to the case of SEP, I had never wanted to reside in hall from the beginning. I thought of it as an utter waste of time and money. Not to mention the stay-in!!! Imagine not staying in during NS and then proceeding to do otherwise in Uni. That was how I once thought of it.
Perhaps the events over the sem has greatly changed my perspective towards things. I see things clearer now, and take setbacks much better. Looking forward an enjoyable time in RH next sem. It would be a great prep-course for the kind of independence awaiting me at University of Birmingham.
Right now, I need to save up. The more the merrier, to ensure a really enjoyable SEP. That would probably mean I wouldnt be joining up with Diana at the states next year for her WnT, nor would Australia be in the equation. Maybe Bangkok (to use the free nights) and the annual pilgrimage to HK though... ghahaha! - after all, I need to buy winter wear. =x
My last paper and last A!!
=)
I will reunite with my long lost friend, Freedom in a little under 4 hours. I haven seen him in months and I can't wait!
Oh I remember the times we had back in those days.
First and foremost, I'm gonna have to conquer eigenvalues, ODEs, numerical methods, stats, hypothesis, CI, approximations, ANOVA, prob, RVs, linear regression etc., all of whom stands in my way.
I WILL EMERGE VICTORIOUS! Muahahahahahahaha!

I can smell freedom 23 hours away..
please liberate me!! the past month has been sooo torturous.. i've so many things planned for the hols that i cant wait!! i wanna start planning the modules for SEP, though its damn easy cuz electives are easy to map... and then i need to decide where to visit in japan, pack my room, keep the notes, run errands, have fun and relax!!
that said, 2 more to go, and i gotta focus on organic today.. focus on how to ace it! mechanism, reactions, carboxylic derivatives, carbonyls, alcohols, benzene, SN, E........ today i see you off.. no more organic ever!!
